Numeric Keypad Not working in Ubuntu

Problem: Numeric keypad not working in Ubuntu

Solution:  Go into the Keyboard Preferences (System >Preferences > Keyboard) and go to the Mouse Keys tab. simply uncheck the box for Allow to control the pointer using the keyboard.
